            Baseball Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Douglas County Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            The Horizon Hawks will take on the Douglas County Huskies at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Horizon has given up an average of 6.7  runs per game this season, but Saturday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Horizon came up short against Fairview  and fell  12-9. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Parker Aaron was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Carter Marsh, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI.
Meanwhile,  after a string of three wins, Douglas County's good fortune finally ran out  on Thursday. They lost  8-2 to Rock Canyon.
  Jackson Kiehn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
 Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Horizon has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.7  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Douglas County struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 7  strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Horizon took their  victory against Douglas County  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024 by a conclusive  6-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success,  or do  the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
