Recap: Christian Academy Saints vs. Ross Rams
After a string of five wins, the Christian Academy Saints 's's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. Their rough 49-24 defeat to Ross might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Christian Academy has scored all season.
Grace Owens was Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted 14 points.
Carly Belle Jackson held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.
It was another big night for Lanie Lipps, who scored 20 points along with six steals for Ross. Lipps is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Chernock, who scored six points along with three steals.
Christian Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Ross, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Academy will take on Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Sea Floyds will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Christian Academy is ranked 83rd). As for Ross, they will be playing at home against Ursuline Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Ursuline Academy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
