 Knoxville Central has not done well against Powell recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Knoxville Central Bobcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Powell Panthers  and snuck past  2-1. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Knoxville Central.
  Zoey Cranford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
 On the hitting side, Knoxville Central's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Jordan Mayes, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.  Maddie Gloeckner was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with a  triple.
 Knoxville Central's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Powell,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 21-12-3.
 Knoxville Central will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Halls at 4:45  p.m. Halls' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8  runs per game  this season, so Knoxville Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Powell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
