Preview: Thomas Worthington CARDINALS vs. Olentangy Braves
The Thomas Worthington CARDINALS will head out on the road to face off against the Olentangy Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomas Worthington comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, Thomas Worthington suffered a rough 69-46 loss at the hands of Olentangy Liberty. While losing is never fun, Thomas Worthington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while Olentangy Liberty is ranked 93rd).
Meanwhile, Olentangy pushed their score all the way to 72 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Westerville Central 76-72. Olentangy has struggled against Westerville Central recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ulysses Ponder, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Agrawal, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds.
Thomas Worthington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Olentangy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Thomas Worthington won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Olentangy 54-53. Does Thomas Worthington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Olentangy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
