Softball Recap: Indiana Has No Trouble Against Valley

Indiana got themselves on the board against Valley on Wednesday, but Valley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 16-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won six in a row.

Claire Brewer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Daelyn Bish was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Boyer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Indiana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Indiana's record is now 9-2. As for Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Indiana is set to challenge their familiar foe Knoch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 1.5, the Knights 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Valley will square off against rival Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
