The Alcoa Tornadoes will challenge the Halls Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alcoa will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Monday, Alcoa got the win against Wartburg Central by a conclusive 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Tornadoes, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Raya Inge was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Makenna McCarter (JOHNSON UNIV) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Alcoa lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wartburg Central didn't launched any.
Cocke County typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Halls proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Fighting Cocks 4-3.
Alle Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harper Bales, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Baker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Halls' win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Alcoa, their victory bumped their record up to 27-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alcoa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. However, it's not like Halls struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
