Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Catholic Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles came up short against the Perry Panthers and fell 53-44. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, John F. Kennedy Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Didi Ryan posted 14 points and five steals. Ryan is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Pompelia, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points.

Even though they lost, John F. Kennedy Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
