Baseball Game Preview: Ironwood Eagles vs. Willow Canyon Wildcats

Ironwood is 1-8 against Willow Canyon since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Ironwood came up short against Willow Canyon and fell 8-3.

For Willow Canyon's part, Matt Huff looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, Huff posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Cameron Davidson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most triples he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Deegan Deporte, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Ironwood's record now sits at 3-8. As for Willow Canyon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.
