Thornton Academy has gone a perfect 7-0 against Westbrook recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Blue Blazes at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Things were looking good for Thornton Academy after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Bonny Eagle by a score of 5-4. The Trojans have struggled against the Scots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Emma Barnes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Wako Matsuda also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Westbrook came up short against Windham on Thursday, falling 17-2. The Blue Blazes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westbrook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elyse Broad, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Thornton Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Westbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Thornton Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Westbrook in their previous matchup back in May, winning 15-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
