            Softball Recap: Monterey Dores vs. North Salinas Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Monterey won the last time they faced North Salinas and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Dores walked away with  a   6-3  win over the Vikings. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Dores.

 Ella Myers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 12 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits (and not a single walk). That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Denae Lee and  Anaiyah Brown did most of the damage at the plate:  Lee  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI, while  Brown  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Monterey's record is now 7-1-1. As for North Salinas, they now  have a losing record of 3-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monterey will face off against Watsonville at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Dores' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcatz have averaged an impressive 7.5  runs per game this season. As for North Salinas, they are headed away from home for the first time to  take on  Hollister  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Vikings 3.3, the Haybalers 3) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
