Basketball Recap: Patapsco Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lansdowne, Patapsco was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Chesapeake Bay Hawks by a score of 53-46. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 55-42 win the Bay Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Despite the defeat, Chesapeake saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ranih Walker shot 42% from the field en route to 15 points and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Walker. Another player making a difference was Julius White, who posted nine points and three steals.

Patapsco now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chesapeake, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patapsco will be home for the holidays to greet Eastern Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Chesapeake will take on Kenwood in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
