Softball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Covington challenged Rio Vista on Tuesday. The Owls lost 18-1 to the Eagles. The Owls' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Covington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Edens, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was EdEns' first of the season.

Covington's record is now 2-5. As for Rio Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Covington will take on rival Itasca at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rio Vista is set to face off against their familiar foe Blum at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
