Soccer Game Preview: Pomona vs. Ganesha

Pomona hasn't had much luck against Ganesha recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Pomona Red Devils will welcome the Ganesha Giants at 5:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pomona is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 5-1 to Edgewood. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1086th, while the Lions are ranked 198th).

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Ganesha ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bassett a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Giants were the better team in the second half.

The victory made it two in a row for Ganesha and bumps their season record up to 6-10-2. As for Pomona, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15-1.
