Softball Recap: Goddard's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Goddard proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 13) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bernalillo Spartans 14-13. Winning may never get old, but the Rockets sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Marisol Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsay Campa, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Goddard's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Bernalillo, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Goddard has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Cobre on the 21st. As for Bernalillo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-8 loss against Alamogordo on the 21st.
