Baseball Game Preview: Chenango Valley Warriors vs. Waverly Wolverines

For the second straight game, Chenango Valley will face off against Waverly. The Warriors will face off against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chenango Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If Chenango Valley beats Waverly with five runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Warriors beat the Wolverines on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-1. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cole Trebilcock made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Kresge, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Angelo Rogers also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Waverly now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Chenango Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
