Baseball Recap: Streator Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Streator, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Lisle Lions on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Lions on Monday, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Clay Christoff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Streator's success: when he posts at least ten strikeouts the team is 3-1 (and 8-14 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Cole Winterrowd was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Keegan Angelico, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Streator's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-15. As for Lisle, they dropped their record down to 2-20-1 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Streator will be playing in front of their home fans against Metamora at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lisle, they will face off against Wheaton Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
