Basketball Recap: Memorial Triumphs

Memorial's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They managed a 67-63 victory over the Western Reserve Blue Devils. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Memorial had a senior duo take command as Teyon Harris Jr. went 11 of 16 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds and Josue Rodriguez posted 18 points along with seven steals and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris Jr. has scored all season. Jared Colon was another key player, putting up nine points and five assists.

Memorial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Memorial's record now sits at 4-1. As for Western Reserve, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Memorial will venture away from home to square off against Lowellville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Reserve, they will welcome McDonald at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
