Softball Recap: Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Has No Trouble Against Guerin Catholic

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard won the last time they faced Guerin Catholic and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 14-4 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Anna Caskey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard got a massive performance out of Olivia Maynard, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Maynard has posted since back in March. Anni Felts was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's record is now 9-4. As for Guerin Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will take on Living Water Homeschool in a tournament on Friday. As for Guerin Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Decatur Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
