Baseball Game Preview: Carrabec Cobras vs. Rangeley Lakes Lakers

For the second straight game, Carrabec will face off against Rangeley Lakes. The Cobras will host the Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carrabec is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Carrabec's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Rangeley Lakes. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won three matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Wyatt Scott and Colton Scheve were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Scott tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Scheve didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. At the plate, Scott went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Scheve went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Scheve has become a key player for Carrabec: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Caldwell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. He is becoming a predictor of Carrabec's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
