Pitman took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against El Capitan, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pitman Pride sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the El Capitan Gauchos on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pride, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Pitman had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-17, 15-8.

Pitman pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for El Capitan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Pitman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Buhach Colony on the 11th. As for El Capitan, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against McLane at 6:00 p.m.
