Basketball Recap: Treshaun Schandon Key Part of a Team Effort in Bluejays Win

Charleston won the last time they faced Bell City and things went their way on Saturday too. The Charleston Bluejays ended the year with a bang, routing the Bell City Cubs 65-44. The Bluejays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Charleston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Treshaun Schandon, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Schandon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenez Lane, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points.

Charleston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Charleston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Bell City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Charleston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-26 loss against Notre Dame on the 30th. As for Bell City, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Risco at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
