Compass Academy is 1-7 against Alpine since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cougars will welcome the Bucks at 7:00 p.m. Compass Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.5 points per game this season.

Compass Academy's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Anthony, posting a 41-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their 13-point performance the game before.

Compass Academy found their leader in sophomore Mason Hicks, who threw for 176 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Ryian Farris got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Compass Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Braxton Morris led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Farris got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Compass Academy, racking up 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaylen Jiminez, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, Alpine was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a blow against Crane, falling 56-7.

The victory made it two in a row for Compass Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Alpine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Compass Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Alpine when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 37-26. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bucks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
