Volleyball Recap: University City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clairemont on Thursday, University City came back down to earth. University City came up short against the Francis Parker Lancers on Friday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Centurions in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12, 25-19.

Leading Francis Parker to victory were Ethan Brigger and Adam Fox. Brigger had 15 digs, while Fox had 13 assists. Those 15 digs gave Brigger a new career-high. Luca Munafo also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

University City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Francis Parker, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

University City will take on High Tech SD at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give University City their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Francis Parker, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Bishop's on the 21st.
