Volleyball Recap: Westborough Extends Winning Streak to Three

Westborough waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Wachusett Regional Mountaineers by a score of 3-1. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mountaineers, too.

Westborough had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Leila Ditullio was the offensive standout of the match as she had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six contests. Emily Coffin also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Westborough was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. They served six more aces than Wachusett Regional's also-impressive total of 11.

Westborough's record is now 10-2. As for Wachusett Regional, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Westborough has already played their next matchup (against Southington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Wachusett Regional, they will take on North Middlesex Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
