Baseball Recap: Elgin's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Elgin has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.35 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against the Dale Pirates, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Owls have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Ritson Meyer was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Elgin's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-3. As for Dale, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Elgin has already played their next match, a 5-0 victory against MacArthur on the 14th. Dale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
