Football Recap: Bishop Watterson Piles Up the Points Against St. Francis Desales + How To Watch

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Bishop Watterson and St. Francis DeSales had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles really took it to the Stallions for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-7 win. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack McCoy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 136 yards and four scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102 rushing yards per game. Caden Mangini helped out on the ground, rushing for 123 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bishop Watterson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 244 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Bishop Watterson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nate Henderson. Another thorn in St. Francis DeSales' side was Michael Boyle, who picked up three sacks and made 16 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Bishop Watterson's record now sits at 6-0. As for St. Francis DeSales, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Bishop Watterson will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Hartley at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: McCoy and Robert Lathon. As for St. Francis DeSales, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 40-7 win against Cabell Midland on the 3rd.
