Soccer Game Preview: Providence Catholic vs. Resurrection

The Providence Catholic Celtics will square off against the Resurrection Bandits at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Providence Catholic is headed into the match without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Rosary get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Providence Catholic, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Giuliana Savarino and Abby O'Brien scored all three of Providence Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five game, Resurrection brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past Trinity 4-1 on Tuesday. With Resurrection ahead 3-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Providence Catholic pushed their record up to 15-0-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Resurrection, the win got them back to even at 5-5-2.
