Softball Recap: Bogue Chitto Takes a Loss

Bogue Chitto lost against Pearl back in March of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bogue Chitto Bobcats lost 12-2 to the Pearl Pirates.

Bogue Chitto saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joy Leggett, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Bogue Chitto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. This was only their first loss (out of four games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bogue Chitto now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Pearl, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Bogue Chitto didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-0 loss against Warren Central on the 15th. As for Pearl, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Oak Grove at 6:30 p.m. Oak Grove has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Pearl will come in with three straight victories.
