 Mid Valley came tearing into  Monday's  matchup with 11 straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Holy Cross Crusaders  5-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mid Valley also won the last time the pair played  back in April.
  Ava Hazelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
 On the hitting side, Mid Valley got a big performance out of  Krista Cortazar, who  went 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Chiara Zavislak, who  went 2-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 Mid Valley's victory was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Holy Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid Valley will  take on Riverside at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Mid Valley: 2.3, Riverside: 3.5) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Holy Cross, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Honesdale at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
