Caravel Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Padua Academy, who was ranked fourth at the time (Caravel Academy was ranked fifth). The Buccaneers had just enough and edged out Padua Academy 2-1 on Wednesday. Caravel Academy haven't had any issues with Padua Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Wilmington Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middletown.

Wilmington Charter's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Caravel Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-2-2.

Caravel Academy beat Wilmington Charter 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
