Softball Game Preview: Clear Creek Wildcats vs. Clear Springs Chargers

Clear Creek hasn't had much luck against Clear Springs recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will face off against the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Clear Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Clear Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, Clear Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Brazoswood and fell 5-4.

Meanwhile, Clear Springs suffered their biggest loss since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 15-6 to Deer Park. The Chargers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alana Strever made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Erianna Garcia, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.

Clear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Clear Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Clear Creek skirted past Clear Springs 5-4 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
