Basketball Game Preview: Harpeth Indians vs. Nashville Christian Eagles

The Harpeth Indians will square off against the Nashville Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Harpeth's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Nashville Christian has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Harpeth slipped by McEwen 54-53.

Harpeth can attribute much of their success to Caiden Johnston, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven assists and six steals, and Cj Turner, who shot 5-for-9 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. Johnston is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Johnston, who posted seven points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Harpeth was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Nashville Christian took a blow against Goodpasture Christian on Saturday, falling 83-54. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Cougars are ranked 11th).

Harpeth is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Nashville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
