Preview: St. Johns Redwings vs. Fowlerville Gladiators
St. Johns has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Fowlerville Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fowlerville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Johns, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, St. Johns was able to grind out a solid win over Haslett, taking the game 49-42. Given St. Johns' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Haslett is ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fowlerville pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 76-58 fall against Durand. Fowlerville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The victory got St. Johns back to even at 7-7. As for Fowlerville, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7.
St. Johns was able to grind out a solid win over Fowlerville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 68-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Johns since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
