Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Mcmichael's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but McMichael had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Brevard Blue Devils by a score of 4-1.

Lindsay Redmon made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Redmon wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Harris, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

McMichael is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Brevard, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-7.

Looking ahead, McMichael will face off against West Stanly on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Phoenix 3.9, the Colts 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Brevard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
