Volleyball Game Preview: Montini Catholic Broncos vs. Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers

The Montini Catholic Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Montini Catholic played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top in a nail-biter against De La Salle, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted since April 8th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Montini Catholic who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 10-25, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Joliet Catholic hadn't done well against St. Francis recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hilltoppers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Spartans 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Hilltoppers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Montini Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Joliet Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.
