Basketball Recap: DSST: Cedar Comes Up Short

DSST: Cedar suffered their biggest loss since January 8th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Denver Christian Thunder, falling 71-46. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunder from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why DSST: Cedar lost, don't look at Same Mehari. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bowen Tieperman, who posted eight points and three steals.

It was another big night for Kaden Moore, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds for Denver Christian. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. Ryan Wind was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for DSST: Cedar and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Denver Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

DSST: Cedar will be taking part in a tournament against Coal Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Denver Christian, they will welcome Strasburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Denver Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63 points per game this season.
