Smithtown East posted their closest victory since September 13th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Hauppauge Eagles 1-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Smithtown East who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23.

Skyla Sullivan paced Smithtown East's offense, picking up five kills. Sullivan got some help from Sadie LaPresti and her eight assists. Lily Sullivan controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Smithtown East's win bumped their record up to 16-2-5. As for Hauppauge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Smithtown East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK on the 27th. As for Hauppauge, they are taking a road trip to take on Half Hollow Hills East at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
