It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dobson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mesa Jackrabbits by a score of 8-3. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Jackrabbits last Tuesday, they had to take a 9-7 defeat.

Dobson got a great performance from Santiago Hinostroza as he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. What's more, Hinostroza posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Freddy Leal, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Brenston Velasquez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Dobson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Dobson's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-14. As for Mesa, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dobson will host Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mesa, they will be playing at home against Boulder Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
