Soccer Game Preview: Davenport vs. Wimberley

The Davenport Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Wimberley Texans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Davenport came out on top. They never let Bandera get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. Wolves haven't had any issues with the BULLDOGS recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Davenport's offense was hitting Bandera from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Logan Strong led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Wimberley entered their tilt with Marble Falls on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Mustangs. Given the Texans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Mustangs are ranked 299th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wimberley's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four matches. As for Davenport, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
