After a string of six wins, Charleston Collegiate's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix. The game marked the Sundevils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Charleston Collegiate's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Grant Morrison, who posted 18 points along with eight assists and five steals, and Thomas Reed, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 38.3% of Charleston Collegiate's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Smith, who earned six points and eight rebounds.

Miles Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew for Palmetto Scholars Academy as he went 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points along with eight assists and seven boards. Jesse Murray was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Charleston Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Palmetto Scholars Academy, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Charleston Collegiate will venture away from home to square off against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmetto Scholars Academy, they will host Cross at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cross is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
