Volleyball Recap: Sheridan's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Sheridan posted their closest victory since October 5, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Granville Blue Aces. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Generals as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Sheridan who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 26-24.

Their offense was headlined by Hayley Clifton and Mauri O'Brien, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Drew Fox and her 16 assists. Maddie Stoltz and Ella Thomas kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Sheridan's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Granville, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheridan will challenge Crooksville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Granville, they will face off against Licking Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
