Basketball Recap: Green River Comes Up Short

Green River and Wendover squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Green River had to settle for second. They fell 68-57 to the Wendover Wildcats. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in December of 2016.

Despite the loss, Green River still got an impressive performance from Rolando Anguiano, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 26 points. The contest was Anguiano's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Cristian Venzor, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Green River's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Wendover, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-17 record this season.

Green River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wendover, they have already played their next game, a 67-63 loss against Manila on the 1st.
