Volleyball Recap: Wilmot Panthers vs. Waterford Wolverines

Wilmot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waterford Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Wilmot actually scored more points across those five sets (107-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 27-25, 12-25, 15-10.

Caitlyn DePasquale paced Wilmot's offense, picking up 13 kills. DePasquale got some help from Elizabeth Johnson and her 20 assists. Audrey Bell controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Wilmot's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Waterford, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmot will welcome Badger at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Waterford and Elkhorn will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
