Baseball Recap: Southern Christian Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Southern Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against East Central HomeSchool by a score of 13-10. Southern Christian hasn't had any issues with East Central HomeSchool recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Southern Christian got a massive performance out of Elijah Bailey, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. What's more, Bailey posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jedd Scott, who went 2-for-6 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Southern Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

Southern Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for East Central HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Christian will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Central HomeSchool, they will face off against Wiregrass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
