Basketball Game Preview: Rib Lake Redmen vs. Owen-Withee Blackhawks

The Rib Lake Redmen will head out on the road to take on the Owen-Withee Blackhawks at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rib Lake will bounce into Monday's game after beating Abbotsford, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Rib Lake breezed past Abbotsford to the tune of 60-18 on Friday. The Redmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 31 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Owen-Withee waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-43 W against the Hornets. Given the Blackhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Hornets are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rib Lake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Owen-Withee, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.

Rib Lake suffered a grim 46-26 defeat to Owen-Withee in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Rib Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
