Football Game Preview: Scotts Hill Lions vs. Riverside Panthers

Scotts Hill hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Neither Scotts Hill nor Riverside posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Scotts Hill duked it out with Lewis County last Friday. The Lions had to suffer through a 41-8 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Riverside's offense. They took a blow against Huntingdon last Friday, falling 49-0. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Scotts Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Scotts Hill was dealt a bruising 36-7 defeat at the hands of Riverside in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
