Softball Recap: Kimball Knights vs. Hillcrest Panthers
Kimball was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 21-6 loss at the hands of the Hillcrest Panthers. Kimball was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hillcrest apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.
For Hillcrest's part, they got a massive performance out of Claudia Tovar, who went 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Aniaya Tucker was another key contributor, going 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and a run.
Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hillcrest, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kimball will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Molina at 7:30 p.m. Molina is coming into the contest with five straight wins at home, so Kimball will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
