Softball Recap: Grapevine Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grapevine can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hallsville Bobcats by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-3 defeat on Saturday.

Bella MacMahon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Grapevine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlyn Asaff, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Grapevine's loss dropped their record down to 25-13. As for Hallsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 37-5-1.

As of now, neither Grapevine nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
