After losing to Junction City the last time they met, Crossett decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Crossett Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Junction City Dragons 5-4. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Braelyn Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addisyn McKenzie, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Kilcrease, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Crossett's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Junction City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Crossett will challenge Stuttgart at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Junction City, they will take on Ouachita at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ouachita has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Junction City will no doubt try to take advantage of.
