Softball Recap: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Sahuaro Cougars
Walden Grove never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Sahuaro Cougars. The Red Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 11 runs or more this season.

Maddie Holzer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Walden Grove let Isabel Higuera and Hannah Montijo run wild. Higuera went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Montijo scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Montijo has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariah Ramirez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
